I think I'd enjoy mud more, if frog wasn't a daily driver.
I get financially strained by alternators, brakes and bearings etc.

Re: Anglesea/Paddy's Swamp Sat July 19 Leaving 0730

I've been on some Otway trips that are pretty good, but was long ago and things change.

The Geelong zookers were in constant contact with me, while they set up the club.
And they are frequenters of outers too.

Lucky Frog was broken, cos if I'd come, I may have embarrassed myself

Sounds like fun, and it does appear that tracks have improved (got harder).

If it was dry, would it still rate hard?

Re: Engine and ideas needed

Have decided to by a 1.3 Sierra donk. Finding a good deal helped with that decision. I chickened out, or wisened up on doing a conversion. Bigger engines were out of my price range. And have had zero problems with sierra gbox, so reliability is an issue, too. All Geminis found were broken or not wit...

Re: Engine and ideas needed

This is turning into a tech thread, if you wish to move it. I can see a couple of down points, but not insurmountable. They are still a "points" engine, but after market electronic is available. They are old tech V belts, meaning I need to do some thinking for my ps pump and EF alternator....

Re: Engine and ideas needed

If I do the gemini auto thing, I'd probably swap front and rear tailshaft positions, to gain the t-case position needed, with less expense..maybe

Also I should consider wether my power steering pump and 110 amp alternator will be wasted or not.

Re: Engine and ideas needed

I'm guessing a valve/head/rocker issue, slowly lost power, then started missing on what felt like one cylinder, then two. There was a deisel rattle in the top somewhere (cant trust my ears, but ruffly) at the top of a big hill. I thought it was the altitude. Could have a broken ring, too. Went out i...
