Re: now GV XL7 diff into Vitara front

Chris, when you are adapting the Sierra housing you do need to cut away the oil gallery to the pinion ( I did mention this to you ;) ) and weld it up so that it clears the crossmember. As for the XL-7 housing if you check back you will see a recent thread about a different style one that John found....

Re: welding steel mounts onto cast iron (diff)

No, it is not cast iron. It is weldable and others have done so but as I suggested to you have a look at a bracket that encircles it and attaches to the crossmember on both sides of the pinion. As an aside I have welded cast iron in the past with success but if you don't get it right ( prep, pre-hea...

Another bumpstop option

I was just having a nosy around and saw these shock mounted bumpstops. They come in firm and soft.

Re: Steel Sierra diff into Vitara front

It doesn't hurt to still strap it as the mounts have been known to bend under load. My suggestion would be to get another Factory mount that is used to bolt it to the cross-member and make up a collar to mount it on the other side. Re: Mt Skene snow trips and the permit requirements

Well I found the application form to download on the FWDV site.

http://www.fwdvictoria.org.au/default0.asp?First=

Applications must be in at least 7 days prior.

It appears that trips are limited to 10 and you can put in the date/dates for the proposed trip so it should cover the camping weekend.

Mt Skene snow trip - Friday 6th to Sunday 8th August

As Mt Skene now requires people driving over it in the winter to be a member of a Association affiliated club and have a permit, have we seen the paperwork requirements for the permit application yet? I know there are no limits on how often we can apply for permits but it now appears that there is a...

Re: good suzuki mechanics

Here is where you will find Dion. He knows Suzuki's and I have had him do a dyno tune for me with good results.
