Re: Xl7
There is no torque setting, the nut is tightened until bearing preload is within spec. (Measured as starting torque, using a fish scale or tiny torque wrench)

Re: Spirit of tas moves to Geelong
Only if the adventure is no connecting public transport, completely inadequate road infrastructure, no facilities anywhere near the wharf and a 50 minute trip (minimum) back to Melbourne. Travellers driving to or from the ferry will be travelling with the traffic now rather than against it. It's a d...

Re: Lithium battery output
I don’t understand what that means. Any battery is only nominally it’s rated voltage. A 12v lead acid battery is 12.7v at full charge and 12v with no load is basically pretty flat. Alkaline batteries are nominally closer to their rated voltage but it’s neither here or there. The current the battery ...

Re: Lithium battery output
OK, with more information it all makes sense. An alkaline 9V battery (I assume you mean an MN1604 - smoke alarm style battery) won't be able to deliver 10W. They're for low power devices. A lithium battery will easily deliver 10W, which is why the LED is both brighter and hotter. Volts at rest has n...

Re: Lithium battery output
Are you measuring the voltage across the battery which make the LED is on? (i.e the battery is under load)

Re: E10 fuel in older Suzuki's
No, not true. Because your car doesn't know what fuel is in it, it will run lean with E10 in it, ping, and run hot. It will be cheaper to run until it does a head gasket or cracks the head (or the fuel system starts leaking) If the car was smarter, it would add more fuel to compensate for the ...

Re: E10 fuel in older Suzuki's
Oh and yes, Ethanol strips the oxide layer off of aluminium so it basically "eats" aluminium. It's why modern fuel systems used stainless steel fuel rails not aluminium. Not an issue with one time use, but over time you'll get leaks. Apparently E5 is OK, it starts to show as a problem with...
