Re: Carb Heat for Sierra.

I doubt there is much heat transfer from the head to the fuel via the fuel pump. It's not the temperature of the fuel thats the problem, it's the temperature of the inlet air as it mixes with the fuel - this is freezing the water vapour in the air. The atomised fuel along with the pressure drop acro...

We don't "close" threads on here - the answer you received might help someone else - that's the way forums work to add value to all members.

Re: Carb Heat for Sierra.

I have another angle on this. I think your "commercial" 1.3litre carb has a manual choke, yes? Does it have coolant hoses running up to carb? if so, do you have flow in the them? These hoses don't require the thermostat to have flow in order to function, same as the heater core. The factory 1.3 auto...

Shaun Gooden (lockfyne on here) is very keen to come on the day trip but is struggling with the forum in his phone. Not sure how else to help, he’s contacted me via FB.

Re: Jimny wheel stud upgrade...

No point buying them with a 22 spline inner in my opinion- that means the strength increase is limited to the material choice only, and I’d suggest that’s not enough.

Re: Snow Trip - Day Trippers - Jamieson Accom - Fri/Sat/Sun - 9-11 Aug 2019

Exactly. It's a stupid rule. Everyone has to carry them, they have to fit and the owner has to know how to fit them or nobody does. Which would be cool, if chains were effective on Skene. Chains are for groomed roads where overnight freezing creates smooth ice. Nothing grips ice - hence the need for...

I understand mike. My point is that there’s no reason to buy chains you aren’t going to use. They only have to be present. Dad bought a fabulously expensive set of konig chains 25 years ago for the same reason and they’ve never been out of their bag. They’re sitting in my shed. They suit 31’s and I ...

Time to break out the compressed air and pump it back to shape.

Re: Rally cab

Polycarbonate is terrible with UV. It will get brittle.

My 2c- buy and modify a maruti cab back. Recreating the contours/window rebate etc will be a nightmare.
