Re: Wrecker Trip - Saturday April 6

Its easy to put a trimatic behind a G16b so long as you can make the gearing work. The AW-4 has a better ratio spread including a very tall overdrive that offsets deep road gearing, but the trimatic works just fine. It’s not really feasible to put an AW-4 behind a carby g16. There is a workaround bu...

Re: Wrecker Trip - Saturday April 6

I think you’re at cross purposes. All G16b Vitaras/x-90’s/gv’s use an AW-4 auto and which requires a Tranmission Control Computer and associated loom. All carby g16 Vitaras use a trimatic. These are mechanical/vacuum. The only wiring is the start inhibitor and reverse light switch. Regardless, you’l...

Re: New Jimny launch - Alan Mance Suzuki 21 Feb

What would it take to build the new Jimny with 32 inch tyres twin locked snorkel and winch, sliders etc... Is it doable.. Do you have to change gearing etc.... Thinking about doing it start of 2020... Anything is doable, but you won't be able to legally build a Jimny with 32's unless you "upgrade" ...

Re: Toolangi - March-3rd - Medium

Cool change is forecast for late afternoon, with 35km/h Northerlies. The change is expected to bring thunderstorms, so dry lightning strike and localised strong winds with the storms are quite possible. It's EXTREMELY dry in the forest at the moment - probably as dry as 2009. There are/have been thr...

Re: Wrecker Trip - Saturday April 6

The coolest things about wreckers is checking out the weirdness. Like spending time staring at a Saab 900 engine bay (the engine is backwards. Yes. Backwards.) or the beauty of the Alfa “busso” v6. Or the way the doors on a smashed and long neglected S class Benz still shut like a bank vault. Fun ti...

Yes. Both LWB and SWB 1.6

The v6 and 2.0 tanks are too wide from memory. Could be wrong though.

Oh and EF/EL falcon alternators and associated wiring and underbonnet fuse boxes.

Great way of eliminating the flaky Sierra fusible link.
