Re: power steering

Sorry for the delay in replying Dougie. Jimmy is the easier job - obviously you don't need the wedge from BenT but radiator clearance is easier - it's an easier fit. The Pitman arm also has more drop, closer to the stock Sierra pitman arm. The Vitara pitman arm is much flatter which increases the an...

Re: reverse cameras and dash cams.

B series falcons have a integrated stereo and don’t have provision for a screen, so a rear view mirror mounted unit might be the best bet. There are some kits to run an android tablet in the B series dash, and they look quite good but that’s a lot of work and money for a reverse camera. F series fal...

Re: Power steering box leaking

Depends why it’s leaking. You can replace seals and bearings easily enough. Might not be cheaper than just throwing another box in it though.

Re: 2 seater Jimny launched

That’s one view. The other view might be it’s cynical rule dodging. By no stretch of the imagination does a Jimny qualify as a commercial vehicle with 2 seats any more than it did with 4, and it’s done not one thing to make it pollute less. (Lets be clear, the current Jimny is a very dirty car compa...

Re: 2 seater Jimny launched

99.9% Sure this is a short term workaround for CO2 emissions. Commercial vehicles will most likely have a short term reprieve from Euro7 emissions. Suzuki has had to withdraw the passenger Jimny from sale in the UK/Europe because of emissions standards.

Re: holden cross 6 vs falcon rtv

I don't think I've ever come across a single cab tray back cross 6, there must be tiny numbers of them around. I'd be concerned with the driveline complexity of the Cross 6 and the high humber of unique parts to that model, along the small volumes manufactured. It seems to be that there are signific...

Re: holden cross 6 vs falcon rtv

Oh, another point- the cross6 uses a McPherson strut front end, which I’m not a huge fan of on heavy vehicles. The falcon is double wishbone. One of the advantages is tyre wear. My fg wears its front tyres perfectly evenly, while the McPherson strut front end on my VF commodore chops out the inside ...

Re: holden cross 6 vs falcon rtv

I’d suggest the RTV. The falcon will be more economical, reliable and I’d suggest it will be cheaper to fix and have better parts availability. The Barra is a cracker of a motor and tough as nails. The cross6 is also enormous which makes them a bit of a pain, yet ironically they have a horrible back...

Re: CARBY help

OK, I did a bit of digging with the FSM. The carb/emissions section of the FSM is 31 pages, so I't not really feasible to post them all here. The key thing is though you need to confirm it's not an ignition timing problem. you can chase carb problems forever, but if your timing is wandering, the coi...
