Re: now GV XL7 diff into Vitara front

Got a bit of cash together at last. So now we are hunting for a steel front diff. At wreckers and online parts locators (thanks CJ good idea) Found a maybe 2 1/2 hours away, just waiting for more info to make sure it is steel. Is there anything I can ask, to try and avoid a wasted trip? I'm told it...

I am out but if we get a decent dump of fresh snow I will be looking at a short notice day trip.

Re: :o Low Range Offroad Group Buy: ordering on TUESDAY 27TH

I have bought quite a bit from Sean over a period of time and generally he has the cheapest prices and cheapest shipping. What you want to do is as Steve mentioned, keep the value under AUD$1000 landed to avoid all the extra costs. If you ask Sean, he will ship by post with a tracking number (USPS) ...

Hi James,

I think that they are still getting on top of things following the recent AGM. You can always give El Presidente Mock a hard time ;)

Re: Mt Skene snow trip - Friday 6th to Sunday 8th August

I have spoken with FWDV to clarify a couple of things. There is no fee for the permit :D If you are found on the road without the appropriate permit it WILL cost you $185 per vehicle and it doesn't matter which route you took to get there. They have been handing out fines. Permits are required betwe...

Trail Tough Undertaker

As christover has raised an interest in the Undertaker from Trail Tough I thought that I would start a new thread about it. Some of what I written below was what I wrote in an old thread on auszookers. Installation instructions You need to separate the t-case from the trans and the Undertaker gets b...

Re: Mt Skene snow trip - Friday 6th to Sunday 8th August

I was looking at the Friday night in the snow but as I would not be able to leave Melbourne until noon at the very earliest I am now looking at Saturday night unless anybody else would be doing a late run up the hill on the Friday.

Re: now GV XL7 diff into Vitara front

Chris, when you are adapting the Sierra housing you do need to cut away the oil gallery to the pinion ( I did mention this to you ;) ) and weld it up so that it clears the crossmember. Yes you did, but I was listening wrong  May revisit the Sierra housing later, but will see what happens. As ...

Re: now GV XL7 diff into Vitara front

The XL-7 mount bolts to the face but the Vit/GV bolts through it (fore/aft). If you get a steel GV housing you can use the standard mount that you already have but if you get the XL-7 housing then you want to grab the mount as well or you will need to fab one up.
